Mr & Mrs Lewis, I was sent your song, Down on the Farm, which I thought was funny and so very true. I then started to poke around your web site. I was inspired by your writings and your songs. I sent your song on to all my friends with a special note to take some time like I did and just enjoy your web site. I hope your travels take you a little farther south, or mine takes us north as I would love to see you in person. Thanks for all you do. Keith Burton PS I can not wait for the CD's to show that I ordered.

Hi to you both from Australia, I was sent your link to utube of "Come on down to the barn" - Good one, and bless you for honouring the Lord by speaking His Word on this homosexual situation that is creeping into our societies, and polluting it, and now even kids are being taught it's ok and another option. God forbid. Needless to say I've sent the link out far and wide, for I'm not ashamed to call Him Lord of my life either. In Him, Barb

Hi again, After reading several recent comments, it amazes me that some who don't agree with you, think that name-calling is somehow in order. You are simply stating your beliefs as you think them to be right. We have recently celebrated a national holiday that gives you the right to do that -- which it also gives to your critics (there may be some places in the world where they would not have survived writing those vile words! ). It is sad that they don't understand that you and others are NOT ignorant, close-minded or hateful. Some of your critics can't seem to share THEIR beliefs without vicious name-calling -- something that you 2 have never done. Alex on July 1st, however, expressed his disagreement and views in a reasonable and civilized manner. He explained his thoughts and feelings and welcomed dialogue from you. Bless you Alex -- I wish you well. Susie on July 11 also had an excellent message -- you may have helped a lot of others -- thanks, Susie. I agree with Mitzi from June 18 , that we need to stop the world from desensitizing our children on these matters. The entertainment media is out of control regarding this. And, no, our beliefs in heterosexuality do not end if you are no longer of child-bearing age. And, yes, there ARE some homosexual animals. GOOD GRIEF!! -- Those weren't the points of the song!! Thank you for sharing your talent and courage. Love you, Marlene L.

I really hope you can stop all this hate mongering in time. You think you can get away with it because you fly under the flag of religion. You're wrong. Its not the right way. You'd think in your last days you'd try to make peace with all the horrible things you've already done. I don't think you truly know god. I'm not ignorant enough to claim I know him either. Maybe you can write a song thats called "We're sorry, we really don't understand and we have no right to open our mouths on the subject.". If I find it hard to forgive you for your actions, how easily do you think it will be for a god.. whose image I'm cast from? This isn't a holy crusade. This is a hate propelled delusion you've wrapped yourself in. To brandy: This country WAS founded on Christianity but try not to forget that Christianity has been founded through hatred, wars and the blood of too many innocents. For a religion that is supposed to be about UNDERSTANDING and GOOD WILL TOWARDS YOUR FELLOW MAN is certainly has its mind set to judge, isolate and condemn. I try to stay away from religions. This doesn't make me atheist. The message of MOST religions is right, its people like lewis and lewis who twist the underlying principle for their own means of getting their hatred across that bother me. This "song" reminded me of some Johnny Rebel songs. Also a Christian, right?

wow how close minded are you people. So God is the one that judges but you sure are trying to take over his job. What ASSHOLES! I think you are more of a disgrace than gay people, they are not as ignorant as you people. Maybe you should read the Bible one more time because you sure have missed a few lines about love, and understanding. Maybe you should stay out of the barn because you sing an awful lot about animal sex I am scared of your wife. Take care dumbass

Thank you for standing up for Jesus and going about the world singing the truth about him on every subject... Your songs hit where the people live, therefore, because you obey and love the Lord... there are numerous people left without excuses to explain away there choice of life style they live... Yes the truth has been in the word forever, laying dormat for many who have never taken the time to find out what Jesus says about any given subject. This is why I believe God, made this song (Come down to the Farm) as well as your others available to you, so that you could get the real truth out giving everyone an opportunity to change there ways before it is to late.... whether anyone wants to believe it or not we are living in the last days and Jesus is at the very door.... So .... keep on keeping on for the Lord.... It will be my pleasure to Pray for ya'll and your ministry too. God Bless, Elizabeth

Hello, I would like to invite any person struggling with homosexuality to come to the cross of Jesus where because of His Love for you He died to take away the sins of your life that has you bound and in pain and confusion. When He saw you in your sins He sent His only Son, Jesus to demonstrate His love toward you so that you would come to understand that while you were even in the very bed of sin that He loved you so much that He died for you! Are you confused and conflicted about the messages you are hearing? God would have you know that He designed us male and female as image bearers of Himself and for our maximum benefit and pleasure. The fact that even animals are a testimony to His perfect design is just one of the loving ways our Father has of showing you His perfect way for you and to help point you in the right direction if you have been lied to and decieved about your sexuality. The witness of nature is not to condemn you but another loving way to help you to be able to see clearly when you have lost your way because of the decietfulness of sin. Never did God mean for you to feel ashamed. Jesus came to take away your shame and the reproach of your sins. We have all sinned against God and gone against Him in one way or another. But God has come to rescue you from all of the places sin has lied to you and you believed it and thereby has taken you... God offers you all the grace that you need to turn from the sinful life that satan has offered you and recieve His gift of forgiveness and new life! Turn to the love and provision of our Heavenly Father right now for cleansing and He will help you get everything sorted out that is twisted in your life. He is The Redeemer and The Restorer of broken and twisted lives. No condemnation...just mercy and grace and forgiveness and the promise of a new life! Ask Him to forgive, cleanse, save and heal you and you know what? He will!! He did it for me!!

I thought the video was great. I beleive that Jesus wants us to not judge people - but I also believe that marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. I have friends that are gay - I don't judge them - but they don't shove their lifestyle in my face either - It is not my place to judge others - but I have a major problem with gay activists trying to ram their beliefs down my throat - I am teaching my children that they are not to judge people - but to listen to their hearts and follow Jesus - our country was founded on Christianity - I believe that if you don't like it you should leave - there are plenty of other places in this world that they can go - what I don't understand is why they are trying to destroy our country and take away our rights - People have the frredom of choice to live how they want - I should have the choice to not have their lifestyles shoved in my children's face or in my face. I am proud to be a Catholic - I am proud of my country - We live in the greatest country in the world and I firmly believe that I am blessed to be an American - I am also very afraid that if we Americans do not rise up and stand together that liberals and anti Christians are going to destroy us all - It is time we speak up and let the world know that not all Americans are racist - gay - anti God - welfare babies

Im sorry that you hate my lifestyle but just to let you know, i cant help but feel the way I do. I know I am in love with my boyfriend and I plan to stay with him for the rest of my life if all goes well. Humorous as it was, "Down to the Farm," sort of made me sad. I still plan on having children and so does my boyfriend. We both want have biological children, and perhaps adopt a child as well; if we are allowed. Also, just to let you, i did not choose to be gay. I only chose to accept it. If I had not, I knew that I would be living a lie. I cannot do that. If I were to have had a girlfriend and decided to marry her, I would be lying to her and i could not do that to anyone. I accepted this to myself when I was 18, which was last yearn meaning that I am now 19, but I have not completely "come out of the closet." I live in east Texas and there are some very rude and arrogant people that live in this area. Plus it is a very Christian area as well. Slowly, but surely, people are beginning to accept this lifestyle making me feel a little bit more comfortable. Luckily, people in Austin are a lot more accepting to this lifestyle. I plan on moving there to attend the University of Texas at Austin next fall semester, and I know that i will finally be able to be more myself there. Oh, and also, I am not a feminine gay. Im actually pretty masculine. Most people would never guess that I because of all my interests. Just saying. Well, I just wanted to let you guys know about me. Im not going to be one of those rude arrogant and ignorant people that curse those who go against them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but do it in a respectable manner. You guys decided to do it in a humorous manner, although still hurtful, it was humorous. Thank You, Alex contact me back if you would like too. You all have my e-mail address

I heard the 2 Roosters song today. I found this site and read as much of Ray's Rantings as I could stomach. I found it sad and disturbing. The attitudes I found here are what keeps our nation in the sad state it's in. Its this small mindedness and refusal to accept truths, while hiding behind a book, that is turning America into a laughingstock. You are hiding behind a mask of "rightousness" while persecuting things you don't like or are afraid of. By the way, homosexuality is found all over the animal kingdom, including man's best friend. I guess roosters are just more christian.

I just wanted to thank you for reinforcing the stereotype that all Christians are uneducated intolerant people. If I’m not mistaken the 2nd greatest commandment was love your neighbor as yourself. When Jesus explained this statement he compared your neighbor to a Samaritan a person who was viewed as being a disgusting, vile, dog by the Jew (much the same way the homosexual is viewed today by many in the church). The time you spent writing this garbage could have been spent reaching out to homosexuals, doing nice things for them, and loving them. Jesus spent his time with “sinners” the God of the universe allowed people to get to know him on a personal level b/4 he started preaching at them…but we’re too good for that right? It’s not the healthy that need a doctor but the sick, but you would rather tell them what freaks they are than to try to provide any medical attention. Do you want to know what “ain’t normal” people trying to act like Christians without loving their neighbor. Jesus chastised the Pharisees for providing rules to people without lifting a finger to help them. Have you done anything to try to help the homosexual? Matthew 25 clearly states that the way you treat people is the way you treat Jesus. I’m sure Jesus really appreciates you poking fun at a serious issue that will cost many their eternity. Do you know that the majority of Christians engage in premarital sex? Almost ½ of our ministers look at Internet porn. Maybe we should worry about cleaning our own house b/4 we start dictating to sinners what they should do with their lives. We are called to love not dictate. Rev 22:11 Let whoever is doing evil continue to do evil. Let whoever is unclean continue to be unclean. Let whoever is doing right continue to do right. Let whoever is holy continue to be holy. In your rant you point at the world, at Arabs, homosexuals, and other sinners, but look at the facts many people sitting in our pews every week are guilty of the very things you mention; they just know how to lie and cover it up better! It’s not the evil liberals who have gotten us where we are today it’s the church. The church is lazy and doesn’t want to lift a finger to help anybody. If all Christians tithed what they were supposed to we could end world hunger. Don’t blame the sinner for doing what the Bible says they are going to do, blame the Christian who is more concerned about their own comfort and politics than people. Jesus never bashed the Roman government which was evil and corrupt he simply ministered to the poor and needy that needed him. Get off your soapbox and start loving people!!!

I just received a forward of your "Down on the Farm" video and I'm quite disgusted. I'm happily married to my husband (so no I'm not gay) and I'm just appalled by your willingness to judge people. I don't believe in the whole GOD thing but I do know that the bible says NOT TO JUDGE one another. You judging them for loving someone makes you a worse person than them. They don't judge you for your music or how you feel, but you think its right for you to judge them? I just wish people the how the courage to sing a song would put more thought into their words instead of trying to teach something that isn't right. Maybe is more gays got married we would have less idiot people reproducing. Then we would have less people in the world that don't know when to kept their beliefs to themselves and their mouths shut.

We really enjoyed your resent rant. The other day I was listening to a radio program and the man talked about how to catch wild hogs. You may have heard it before but I think it bears repeating. To catch a herd of wild hogs, you find a spot in the woods that will give you the room you need to build a pen. First you put out corn everyday and get them used to coming to eat. When they get used to that, you build one side of the pen, just a line of fencing. Continue to put down the corn, they will get used to the pen and soon come readily to eat. Next you put up the opposite side of the pen and continue to put down the corn. When they get used to that, you put up the third side. They will get used to that also and will continue to eat the corn. lastly, you build the final side with a gate and leave the gate open. They will come in and eat the corn. Soon they are so used to the pen that while they are in there, you can close the gate, and you have them. They will run around and squeal and fuss for a while but soon accept their fate and go back to eating. Do you see what the story is getting at? That is where America is today. We have allowed our freedoms to be taken away one at a time and not done anything but go on eating, watching TV, played video games and all the other things we do to keep from facing reality. You are right, the saddest thing that we can do, is nothing. Bro. Lewis, we enjoyed your music and your ranting. I am forwarding this message to all our friends. I regularly call or email my state and national legislators and hold their feet to the fire. We must make them accountable. The constitution is being so watered-down that it would be unrecognizable to the very men who crafted it through inspiration from God. I will stop now, because I could "rant" for a long time. Thank you for this venue.

I regularly call or email my state and national legislators and hold their feet to the fire. We must make them accountable. The constitution is being so watered-down that it would be unrecognizable to the very men who crafted it through inspiration from God. I will stop now, because I could "rant" for a long time. Thank you for this venue.

I just was sent you "Down on the Farm " video from my friend and thank you so much for putting your witnessing of God our Savior online for the who;e world to see.I think God loves us to have fun as christians but we still should be spreading His Word to all we can reach and you guys look like you really have alot of fun singing His praises. I'm in N.C. and I greatly worry about this stuff coming our way and I pray daily it never will, I have one grandson who is 3 and to think this will be something he sees as commonplace as he gets older and I just keep praying that we will never see that mess here, hopefully the Rapture will have taken place I pray so we won't have to see this,I see enough of it everywhere I look. Someone sent me something from you tube yesterday and I think you can find it I'm not sure how that site works reallybut I do know the category was called " Cardboard Conffessions" and I must warn you yes you will need a tissue. Thanks again for your witty way of of Praising my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Keep up the great work you do. P.S. I will show this to my 3 yr old grandson I think with this kinda thing it Has to be started VERY EARLY before the world desensitizes him,I as his Nana will make him extremly sensitive to this matter, again thank you for you message.

Hey, I live on a farm! We have many roosters, ducks, and livestock. How true, 2 bulls can't make a baby!! Wow what a variety of responses to your song. I think it's great. We are commanded to love the sinner but not the sin. I live in rural America where we don't have to see much of the homo stuff, thankfully. I think there are lots of misguided people out there, even Christians. Keep up the good songs...Twila

Came across "Come On Down To The Farm" and thought I'd tell you how disgusting I think it is. Science, psychology, you name it, has all pretty much proved that homosexuality occurs as a result of biological and/or psychological factors from early childhood which are completely beyond one's control. I think you should perhaps be a little more informed before you go and make such an ignorant song. Furthermore, I agree with below comment about procreation. It's an excellent point. And another thing: the Bible, and Christianity in general, emphasises love, and I think it's clear that two people in a gay relationship love each other. Love is love as far as I can tell. The only differences we see in love are ones on the surface. I'm a Pagan and I believe this. Please don't make any more ignorant songs. Please. -Kim, Birmingham, England

I just wanted to let you know how disappointed I am in your down on the farm video. Just to let you know I am a 26 year old virgin. I have had homosexual feelings since age 11...never wanted them and have prayed everyday that God will take them (he hasnt). Therefore I am viewing this as my "thorn in the flesh". So now I live everyday pretty much alone, with the exception of my family and church family because my friends have all started their families. I want a wife and kids more than anything but for whatever reason can't force myself to like the "plumbing" I'm Biblically supposed to. I will continue trying to love and serve God knowing that his strength is made perfect in my weakness. But please reconsider poking fun of an issue you really know nothing about.

Came across a link to the video "Down to the Farm" on the I-am-bored site, realized I hadn't cursed organized religion in awhile and decided to watch it. My question for you is, what is the 'purpose' (for lack of a better word) for marriage? In the song/video you emphasize that the most important aspect is the ability to procreate. If that is so, what happens post menopause? What's the point of being married to a woman if her ovaries are all dried up and useless? Your body is still able to produce semen, yet as a vessel for the creation of God's children, your wife is completely and utterly useless... It's ironic that your marriage is as useless as you see the act of gay marriage. Figured I'd point out that irony. Peace and love Forrest

Hi In response to "come down to the farm," i have to say your song hurt me deeply and personally. I'm a young gay man who went to an ex-gay ministery where i was promised that the power of jesus would save me but he never did. I've been ex-communicated and have no family contact, all for something i would change in a heart beat if i could. I hated being gay but i cant go hating myself forever i know jesus wouldnt want that

I love "Two Roosters Walking Arm in Arm". I have noticed that people seem to forget the passage in the bible about a man sleeping with a man as he would a woman being put to death. I have seen nothing in the bible that condones Homosexuality so I have to conclude that it is a sin..

Dear Mr and Mrs Lewis, I was sent your video "Two Roosters Walking Arm in Arm". Thought it was a very funny video and catchy tune, even though country/gospel is not my thing. I wish you would reconsider your antipathy for homosexuals. I'm a Christian (though not a churchgoer) who has several homosexual friends and acquaintances. From what they've told me about their lives, they seem to either have been (a) born that way, or (b) made that way through psychological trauma or sexual abuse. They don't 'choose' to be homosexual any more than you or I chose to be heterosexual. Gays will always be a small minority, so why get upset about them? One thing I did agree with in your 'rant' was the problem of so-called Christian churches that emphasise money and material things. There's a horrible mega-church in the Hills district of Sydney, Australia (where I live) that preaches a so-called 'Gospel of Prosperity'. They extort money from their parishioners and tell them that God will reward them with monetary success on Earth, in addition to a reward in Heaven. It's truly disgusting to see this perversion of Jesus's message. Jesus, after all, owned little more than the sandals on his feet. Sincerely, Michelle Heeter

Cute video with down on the farm (a very good way to express your views) but homosexuality and bisexuality do exist in nature (there was a pair of gay penguins in Central Park Zoo and Bonobo's [genetically very similiar to us] engage in many acts of homosexual behaviour). Due to the overwhelming number of religions, and different interpretations of a / the god / gods, it is likely that any single religion will be wrong. The Bible is no more proof that your religion is right than the Quran is proof that the Muslims are right, so please don't try to speak for a / the god / gods since you can't be sure.

A new survey finds that Americans are split almost evenly over perceptions of homosexual behavior as either sinful or acceptable to Go LifeWay Research, an arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, surveyed 1,201 adults in April to determine their attitudes about homosexuality. Forty-eight percent responded that homosexual behavior is sinful, but 45 percent said that it is not -- basically a statistical tie when the margin of error is taken into account. Schenck is referring to the number of born-again, evangelical, or fundamentalist Christians who consider homosexual behavior to be morally acceptable -- and that number stands at 17 percent, according to the survey. Thirty-one percent of Protestants and 55 percent of Catholics feel the same way. What in the world are these people thinking ! Our world is going crazy !! How can true born again Christians believe being gay is okay? I love your song about the animals in the barn !

I agree with your messages that we need to fight for this country - against immorality and godlessness. I disagree that Americans are asleep. There are many of us - yourself included - that are on the battlefield everyday. Your method is by sending messages through your songs. Some of them are offensive to some and probably convert very few. Other songs and postings on your blogs ignite a fire that are making a difference. But there are other methods that we Christians are using that you won't read about in the paper or hear about on the news. Our method is by loving our neighbors. Inviting the lost in our lives to church, bible studies and homegroup, being their friend and showing them that the godlessness in their lives is the root of their problems. Giving them grace and showing them forgiveness. I know many people, myself included, who are a witness to people at work, our children are talking to their friends about Jesus at school. There is a battle going on and I assure you it is not one-sided. Be encouraged and continue with your approach knowing that we are united and will be victorious no matter what....

Re: Video "Come on down to the Farm"I am a Christian.A while ago I would have applauded this video along with the rest. I felt a great need to point out the 'rightness' and 'wrongness' of others sins. Especially the 'obvious ones' as in this video. Our Father showed me I had a 'Religious mindset' like the pharisees because something is wrong if I am still pointing out people's sins when Jesus came to take them away. Then I had a cousin who is a Christian who was lured into this lifestyle.I began to understand that satan can decieve all of us and things can be twisted in times of vulnerability and when they do our Father's heart is to rescue us from all the places where sin has taken us. Jesus paid for all sins ever committed 2000 yrs ago. His focus is on us. He doesn't focus on our sin but on rescuing us from where we have gone and been led astray and sets about to restore us.His approach to sin communicates His love, care and concern for our lives no matter what sin we are experiencing. With your approach you are like the men who pointed out the woman's sin of adultry. Are you really so righteous that you can cast a stone via this video? Why you could make all kinds of videos on all kinds of sins...gluttony,gossip,lusting,coveting, stealing, lying etc.. Well, now I am going through my Phariseectomy and I find that I have a more loving heart towards people and I am willing to help them as the Father wishes to use me to bring them back to Him and when that happens... Thats when the Angels applaude.

WOW!!! Ray & Laura, It has been sooooooo long since we have been in contact. After I last spoke with Laura I had all your contact information on my computer, it crashed and I lost it all. I have tried to locate you all for some time. I tried a few "people searches", white pages and a few others to no avail. After a few moves, I finally went through some things I had in storage for a couple of years and found one of your cassette tapes "Lewis & Lewis", then I decided to just do a search for "Lewis & Lewis Gospel Singers" and there you were!!! I was so excited I called your number right away! Laura, you were with your daughter and Ray was home eating. LOL! It was so good to hear his voice and catch up a bit on all our happenings. Laura, I can hardly wait to talk with you again! I have thought of you so many times and I have prayed for you and Ray often! I love your website! It is beautiful and sounds like God is using ya'll to minister to others greatly! I have missed you all! Can't wait to talk with you soon! God Bless you! I will keep praying for you ministry! Love Always, Steph

I'm back again. I just wanted to tell you about my daddy. He died after a long bout with cancer. He trusted God for his healing and he wouldn't go to the Dr. In the end he had to go to the Dr. but he trusted God all the way to the end. Your song I'm A Winner Either Way reminded me of his unwavering faith and his belief that he was a winner either way. He died at home and all the family was around his bed when he went home to glory. What a homegoing it was. We were singing hymns and it seemed I could hear the angels singing with us. That was the most sorrowerfull and yet the most blessed and awesome time in my life. Again I say what an awesome God we serve. Rita Fischer

I heard you at Southside last night(7/15/07)for the first tim ever. I was truly blessed!! In the last 4 yrs. my family has faced many tragedies. My Mother lost a mother. husband. & a son in 18 months time. During that time my husband & I lost a great-granddaughter. That was 2002 & 2003. This year in March my brother tried to commit suicide and in the same week another brother was diagnosed with Non-Hodgins Lymthomia cancer. By the way I am the oldest of 8 children. Twenty two years ago we had our first tragedy by losing my sister in a car accident. GOD HAS BEEN OUR ROCK AND OUR FORTRESS!! Your song Walking Back Down touched me deeply, I can't wait to tell my Mother your stories and let her listen to your songs. She lives in Missouri. My mom & dad were sav ed & filled with the Holy Ghost at Southside AG many years ago so our roots of Christianity are there. God has been so faithful!! He has brought us thru many situations victoriously!! What an awesome God we serve!! (my husband is the one that played the piano.) He alwso enjoyed your ministry. He loves music & he thought you guys were awesome. Coming from him, consider that a great compliment. Love and Prayers, Rita Fischer

I just wanted to tell you what an inspiration the two of you are. My husband and I heard you sing at the Claypool United Methodist Church, in Claypool, WV several years ago, and were so blessed by the music. Years have passed, and today after church, I was looking for the lyrics for "I'm a winner either way" and in my search, I found your website, and once more have been blessed by you. We now live in Wapakoneta, OH and miss a lot of the Southern Gospel singings from back home. May God continue to bless you two, and keep his ministry alive. Cheryl

Hi from Charleston, WV! You we're a blessing to all at our church (Church of God of Prophecy). Your song "I'm a Winner Either Way" is wonderful. As a four year cancer survivor, i't meant alot to me personally. You are both so blessed, and are each a great blessing to those you come in contact with. You're doing wonderful work for the Lord. Our prayers are with you.

I just want to let you know, the song " A Winner either Way" gives me comfort today! I have lost a dear friend to cancer. Through her journey, she never lost faith in the Lord for one minute! She was given to us to help us find our way. She left this life in the flesh yesterday 9-13-06, to go to her eternal life. In one of our last conversations, she told me not to grieve for her because she was a winner either way! So thank you for this song. Today, I know that she is walking with our Lord, smiling down on us!

Wonderful stories. Sad stories. I don't know if I could handle the loss of two children. We were very fortunate to have all four of ours grow up healthy and fairly independent - well I guess they're never totally independent. The Goodman's were our favorite group - seen them three or four times. No one quite like Vestel. My best friend's father sang your song "I wouldn't trade the old . . . . " and I had never heard it before. Loved it and decided to learn it. Searched for the lyrics and found your web site. It is my favorite song of all times. "He walks the dark hills" is also a favorite. I would love to know if you're ever up here singing around the Parkersburg, WV area.
